What’s trending or newsworthy in property in Frankston?

As the market continues to have huge amounts of growth (along with these Bayside locations) many buyers who want that lifestyle of living next to the Bay have made the decision to start looking further down the Bayside Region. For the investor or first home buyer it has become nearly impossible due to demand and prices rising to purchase a home closer to the city. With fantastic transport, schools and lifestyle this has made Bayside more and more popular over the past three years particularly.

Any top property tips for sellers in Frankston?

Right now the market is HOT, the demand is high and having just hit spring it’s a great time to showcase and sell your home.

Those who purchased in these areas anywhere from three-five years ago will be pleasantly surprised when they discover the “true value” of their home.

What top three pieces of advice would you give sellers preparing their home for sale?

  1. First impressions last – ensuring that the property looks fresh and tidy upon entry including the gardens is paramount.
  2. The last minute touches – If you had been putting off repainting that flaking window sill or finishing off the stain on the deck, ensuring that this is done prior to the photography will give buyers a feeling that you love your home and so will they!
  3. Less is more – If you have not used something for a couple of weeks then find somewhere to store it! Clutter makes any room appear smaller in size, and is off -putting to the buyer.

Any tips and tricks to improving the value of your home?

Fresh paint – You can do it yourself and it doesn’t cost a lot but can add so much value.

Light fittings and door handles – these can date a property more than people realise, sometimes simply changing these two things can completely change a room.

Lawns and Gardens – This is often the first and last things that people see when looking at a property to purchase. Fresh bark and a manicured garden can give buyers a sense that the property has been well maintained.

How is the property market in your local area performing?

The median prices have risen dramatically over the past 12 months, some rising 1% or 2% and others up to 12%.

The closer you are to the water and local amenities, the higher the price has risen.

Why did you join Purplebricks?

The opportunity to make a difference for people, to provide them with even better service and results with a cost-effective price.

I believe that the world is changing at a rapid pace and that in time there won’t be a need for offices.

Sir Richard Branson has also been quoted saying this and I have a lot of respect for him as a leader of innovation and business.

What is the best thing about your job as a Local Property Expert?

Making a difference to families, things are expensive and that extra $11,000 or more makes a huge difference in peoples lives.

Not spending most of my time canvassing new leads and being invited into people’s homes allows you to build a relationship with sellers because everything is transparent, convenient and honest.

Tell us one thing about you that would surprise people?

I purchased my first home at the age of 16 (with my father) and my second at the age of 23.

What is your own property dream?

To own my own home outright and two more properties so that I can gift them to my children, as I don’t know if home ownership is going to be obtainable for them.

What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever been given?

“Just do it” – we really only do live once, we often let fear get in the way of our own greatness, if you conquer your fear, you can conquer the world!

What is your favourite song?

Janis Joplin – Bobby Mcgee.

What is your favourite sport?

Kickboxing or MMA.

What did you think you’d be when you were growing up?

Happy, what you do as a job doesn’t define you as a person. What you do as a person does however!

And finally…what type of coffee do you take?

Soy Cappucino.
